Kirena Dillon made the decision to become a professional dancer at the age of 11, entering the Kirov Academy of Ballet. There she intensively studied classical ballet and folkloric dances. At 16, Kirena left Washington, DC for Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she began training in Argentine Tango at the renowed school of Mora Godoy. She is privileged to have learned from the world class instructors of Godoy’s academy and company. Kirena spent many nights in Buenos Aires’s traditional tango salons, listening to the music, dancing, and learning from the masters. Having recently returned to the United States, Kirena currently performs with local and touring tango companies in Washington, DC.
