Amy Pronovost began her dance training at the Rosemarie Floyd School of Dance in Royal Oak, MI. She performed various principle roles in The Rosemarie Floyd Contemporary Civic Ballet Company until her graduation from high school. Under the tutelage of Rosemarie Floyd she received her Level Six Cechetti certification. Amy received her BA in Dance and English from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. After graduation she went on to teach at local Detroit area studios and became the Ballet Director for Dance Dynamics in Walled Lake. Her students have won many awards and received many scholarships, including ballet summer program scholarships to The School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffery Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Austin, Washington Ballet, and Julliard. Her former students have performed throughout the United States including Wicked, West Side Story, and Billy Elliot on Broadway. She currently has students with the Morphoses Dance Company and The Orlando Ballet. Amy has participated in the National Ballet of Canada and The Pacific Northwest Ballet’s teachers’ seminars.
In 2000, Amy began teaching Stott Pilates™ at Equilibrium in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She is a fully certified Level 2 Stott Pilates instructor as well as a Stott Pilates Instructor Trainer. She is also a certified Level 1 Gyrotonic® Instructor, and XtendBarre® Instructor. She is currently working toward certification as a yoga instructor.
